Snow

There is no one around
It’s late on Christmas eve
In the streets the lights are on
No more bird on the trees

She’s searching in the garbage for something to eat
Her old coat on her back brings almost no heat
She doesn’t care for the people at their windows
Laughing at her like in a TV show

She’s waiting in the snow for an angle that would take her home
That her life will end soon is her only hope

She once had a life and a family
A perfect life in so said perfect world
The day she lost control, she lost it all
Then she learned how hard is the fall

She’s waiting in the snow for an angle that would take her home
That her life will end soon is her only hope
She’s looking at the stars wondering if one could be her home
That her life will end soon is her only hope

She is still so hungry, she found nothing to eat
She would sell her soul for a little more heat
There is even no more light behind the windows
The city is asleep, breathing so low

At he end of the night maybe she will be gone
Or maybe tomorrow if it ain’t so

There is no one around
The snow is melting down
Uncovering her face
Eaten by the birds
