Dignity

The only thing she wants is the right to die with dignity…

Twenty seven days ago the doctor told her so:
« You should be aware there is nothing left to expect »
She cried in the arms of her mom, tried to smile to her son
But now she’s so tired she only wants to be gone

While the pain increases there is no release, she cries

Earlier this morning she learned what the lawman said:
« I’m sorry but you’ll have to suffer ’till the end »
It’s written black on white in the big book of laws
« Helping someone to die is a murder »

But still the pain increases there is no release, she cries

She can barely move or speak since yesterday
She is fed on tubes since she refuses to eat
Even if she wanted to she wouldn’t have the strength
To hang herself or even jump trough the window

And the fucking pain increases there is no release, she cries

And her mother cries
And her brother cries
‘Cause she’s still alive
And her son cries
And her father cries
And her husband cries
‘Cause she’s still alive
And the doctor cries
And the nurses cries
‘Cause she’s still alive
